The City of O’Fallon’s Public Safety Facility was designed to perform as a multi-use building, housing the police station and EMS departments. The facility was designed with the objective of utilizing the new building to improve efficiency, maintain overall security and reduce combined operating costs for the city. The new facility reflects a “community friendly” image to the public, yet is secure and hardened where it needs to be. A glass and steel entrance canopy leads visitors into a two-story lobby. A courtyard located in the middle of the building brings natural light and provides an outside gathering place for employees. The Community Room near the main entry allows the building to be open and inviting to the public.
