The crime lab is an integral part of the new St. Charles County Sheriff’s Facility. The design integrated multiple mini-labs within one suite and enabled the Sheriff’s Department to apply for and receive National Accreditation from the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors/Laboratory Accreditation Board. This accreditation process is intensive and requires the lab to have the appropriate safety, quality assurance and proper work flow procedures in place. The facility is a county-wide resource providing essential analysis for:

- Forensic Biology & DNA
- Firearms Functionality Testing
- Serial Number Restorations
- Arson & Explosives
- Blood Alcohol Concetrantion (BAC) Testing
