Huawei, the largest privately owned company in China, has retained Arcturis to evaluate and implement a technology solution that tracks real property, assists with lease management, consolidates data and links applicable information throughout the firms data systems. Arcturis' technology solutions enable a single data entry to update several divisions and provide information access for multiple users throughout the firm.
Currently ranked 4th in the Network Communications industry world-wide, Huawei's rapid growth required a fast and economical way to address their technology issues. Arcturis' Technology Solutions team were able to present effective solutions that met Huawei's goals.
Challenge:
- To create a single-source solution to manage firm-wide information access
- Develop a process to collect and maintain space management data for decision making purposes
- Manage and link lease information with space data
- Efficiently allocate cost information to departments occupying the space
- Facilitate an enterprise-level solution that communicates with other firm databases such as Human Resources, Financial, Asset Management and Maintenance Systems
- Create a company-wide portal so data could be easily shared among the various departments
Solution:
- Arcturis made significant customizations to the existing ARCHIBUS database so it could incorporate Huawei's existing workflow while fully utilizing the power of the ARCHIBUS system
- All CAD drawings of Huawei's headquarter campus were converted into DWF (Web) format so they could be displayed on Huawei's Facilities web portal
- Teaming with Huawei's Facilities Management department, new procedures and workflows were developed to more efficiently manage all of Huawei's leases
- Over 30 customized reports were developed so space management data could be summarized and represented at various levels - campus, city, state, region and country
