Arcturis provided site planning for Whitfield School’s outdoor gathering area, The Piper Courtyard. Arcturis designed the Piper Courtyard to support Whitfield School’s goal of weaving technology into all aspects of learning, even in the outdoors. The Piper Courtyard is adjacent to the Intellectual Commons where students gather for learning and collaboration. One of Piper Courtyard’s main features is a set of honey locust trees that provide adequate shade with a thin overhead canopy while at the same time allowing beautiful dappled light to spill into the space.
