Patricia Whitaker, IIDA
President & CEO
Pat Whitaker maintains responsibility for overall firm management, strategic direction, and business development at Arcturis. Her hands-on leadership style ensures that Arcturis’ Mission and Values are understood within the firm and evident to clients and the community. Under her direction, Arcturis has grown from a one-person business in 1977 to a company with more than 110 people. Actively involved in the community, Pat serves on the St. Louis Children’s Hospital Board of Directors, St. Louis Regional Chamber and Growth Association Board of Directors, YMCA Board of Directors and the United Way Board of Directors. She also serves on The PrivateBank Board of Directors and the Regional Business Council.

Vernon Remiger, AIA, LEED AP
Chief Operating Officer Vern Remiger has practiced architecture in the Missouri area for the past 25 years. As Chief Operating Officer, Vern brings impressive experience and personal style in leading the firm in operational sophistication and efficiency. He bears ultimate responsibility for all technical issues and their execution and promotes best practices throughout the firm's overall operations. Vern is well respected by clients and colleagues for his in-depth understanding of the practice of architecture, relationship-building and problem-solving abilities. He has been successful in bringing together diverse sectors of business, government, civic activists and special interests in collaborative opportunities. Vern is a member of the Herbert Hoover Boys & Girls Club of St. Louis Board of Directors, and is past president of the AIA St. Louis Component. He is a Registered Architect in the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Virginia. Vern is N.C.A.R.B. Certified.

Mary Kay January
Chief Financial Officer Mary Kay January has responsibility for managing the firm’s financial operations, including analysis, reporting, communication and forecasting of financial progress as it relates to firm goals. In addition, she has a key role in implementing the firm’s strategic plan and firm policies, creating and reviewing contracts and documents, overseeing compensation and benefits plans and administering a firm-wide information database. Mary Kay is a member of FEI (Financial Executives International) and serves on the Girl Scout Council Board of Directors.

Bill Burke, III, RLA
Principal of Planning Bill Burke is responsible for overseeing all processes in the production and design of planning, landscape architecture and urban design projects. Mr. Burke has extensive experience in landscape master plans, neighborhood development, smart growth planning, master planning, campus planning, land use planning and streetscape planning. He is well known for his prominence with projects that set the terms for living well and responsibly at urban densities and his ability to transform large city districts with unique mixed-use strategies. He is recognized as an innovator in the realm of public process with his specialized, effective and interactive approach to substantive community involvement. He frequently leads community/neighborhood public participation workshops and facilitates public meetings. Mr. Burke serves on the Southern Illinois Leadership Council Board of Directors, the Glen Carbon, IL Planning and Zoning Commission, and the University of Arkansas Professional Advisory Board. He is a member of the American Planning Association and American Society of Landscape Architects.

David Kehm, AIA, NCARB
Principal of Quality Control David Kehm has extensive experience in large-scale architecture and master planning projects, encompassing corporate, institutional, civic, adaptive reuse, and educational building projects. David provides expert design and project management leadership. Skilled at managing complex projects with multi-tiered approval processes and multiple user groups/stakeholders, he is highly collaborative and adept at building consensus among all parties. He is familiar with the demands of competing interests of schedule, scope and cost; challenging construction budgets; and condensed project schedules. His projects have a great track record of being completed on time and on budget. He is a recognized expert in Data Center Design and has led projects with numerous major corporations in and out of the St. Louis area, including projects for both Edward Jones Data Center projects in St. Louis and Tempe, AZ. David is ultimately responsible for overseeing all phases of the architectural process. This includes programming, site design, schematic design, design development, contract documents, and contract administration. He is a member of the St. Louis Council of Construction Consumers and a Registered Architect in the states of Arizona, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Missouri, and North Carolina. He is N.C.A.R.B. Certified.

John Mueller, AIA, LEED AP
Principal of Architecture John Mueller has practiced architecture in the Missouri area since 1998 and has responsibility for managing and delivering several of the firm’s largest, most complex projects. John works to uphold the firm’s vision of serving our clients through innovative design, professional collaboration and a commitment to sustainability. He is a catalyst for the firm’s commitment to design excellence and the delivery of integrated, innovative and intelligent design solutions. He believes in the direct connection between architecture and quality of life. John also has extensive experience in historical restoration projects throughout the United States during his tenure as an architect in New York. He works closely with clients and consultants to create functional and effective buildings that are timeless in nature. John is also a member of the Grace Hill Settlement House Board of Directors.

Ron Johnson
Principal of Interiors Ron Johnson has practiced interior architecture and design for 17 years. He leads the Interiors group in providing distinctive design solutions, quality project execution and exceptional client satisfaction. During his career he has engaged in the delivery of diverse projects for financial institutions, corporations, educational facilities, not-for-profit, entertainment and community and civic centers. Ron is a member of the Southern Illinois University (Carbondale) Interior Design Advisory Board and a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), serving on the Program Committee.

Julie Keil
Principal of Facilities Julie Keil provides leadership and direction in Facilities services, supporting clients with strategic consulting, master planning, move management, facility forecasting, and on-site facilities services. With 17 years of experience in Interiors and Facilities, Julie’s expertise has enabled clients of all sizes and types to gain cost effectiveness and process efficiencies as they manage their office space and real estate during times of growth and change. Julie is an active member of IFMA (International Facility Managers Association).

Kari Funk
Principal With many years of office planning and design experience for major corporations, Kari develops a variety of unique resources, services and products to support facility management goals and objectives for Arcturis’ clients. As principal, Kari oversees facility coordination, departmental programming, design, furniture selection/coordination, contract documents and implementation and installation. She is an expert in facility programming/needs assessment and putting standards and project processes in place. Kari is also involved with the St. Louis Partnership for Girls and Women in Sports.

Becky Kueker
Principal of Business Development As the Principal of Business Development, Becky has overall responsibility for client development and retention through relationship-building and account management. Throughout her career at Arcturis, Becky has provided strategic direction for developing new business that aligns with our mission, goals and values. She ensures that our image with staff, clients and the community is representative of the caliber of design and solutions Arcturis provides. A dedicated community advocate, Becky serves on the St. Louis Community College Foundation Board of Directors, the Girl Scouts of Greater St. Louis Board of Directors, and the Food Outreach Board of Directors.

Margaret McDonald, LEED AP
Principal Margaret McDonald uses her design talent and experience to align client’s goals for their interior environment with design solutions that are unique, functional and expressive of their vision. Margaret’s combined skills in client relationships and design sensibility allow her to work effectively on a multitude of projects, including corporate, entertainment, non-profit, cultural, civic, retail, financial and residential. Her role consists of leading design reviews, mentoring staff and creating a strong firm awareness of design. Margaret serves on the Metro Theater Board of Directors.
