Highly qualified, motivated students currently enrolled in upper level undergraduate or graduate Landscape Architecture design degree programs.
Proficient in design programs such as Revit, AutoCADD, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong in hand graphics and knowledge of plant material
Participants in Arcturis’s Summer Internship Program will be exposed to many aspects of our professional design practice. Interns will have the opportunity to become valued members of project teams and be exposed to real-world design challenges. Participation in the following can be expected during an internship experience:
Inclusion in design charrettes and critiques
Input and ownership of design problems
Education on construction documentation and administration
Rendering and design development (using Revit, AutoCADD, Photoshop, Sketchup, etc) for project and marketing use
Regular opportunities to attend lunch and learns about various products, code issues and design details
Project involvement and documentation in varying phases of project, from schematic design through construction documentation
Site visits with project teams to review project construction
Site visits for field verification and documentation
Presence at various project presentations, client meetings and construction meetings
Access to the materials library and assist in selecting products for projects
Present portfolio to the studio at Intern introductory happy hour
Valuable interaction with various fields – urban planning, architecture, interior design and graphics/branding
One-on-one mentoring time with designers from various experience levels
Opportunity to attend industry events and gain industry exposure (ASLA)
The Arcturis internship experience will contribute to the enhancement of critical thinking as it applies to the design practice including presentation skills, communication of design ideas, and a rigor for detail.
