Missouri School for the Blind - Facility Study and Analysis
Arcturis completed the Missouri School for the Blind Facility Study in five phases: Programming, Inventory, Preliminary Space Assessment,
Space Planning and a Final Report. The programming phase provided data and observations on space usage and safety. Group interviews were focused on
gaining understanding of the following: Who currently uses the facility? What is the ideal program? What is the future enrollment? Meetings were held
to discuss culture, standards, initiative, benchmarks, and design criteria. Superintendent Geoffrey Barney established a vision to bring more technology
and flexibility to the campus while respecting the rich history of the school. Arcturis provided a facility study and space analysis of the existing facility to
ensure the school’s vision and goals were met in terms of flexibility and safety.
