ARCHITECTURE PROJECT
EDWARD JONES DATA CENTER
Previous Project | Next Project
This 80,000 sq. ft. building was developed with increased structural criteria to provide protection from natural disasters. The facility serves as the back-up data center for this financial services’ firm’s Tempe, AZ Southwest Campus. The building core functions are located at the exterior of the structure to allow for uninterrupted floor space for data equipment layout. The exterior walls are fully-grouted concrete block. A combination of steel and CMU bearing is integrated, strengthening the seismic defense. The main volume is clad in brick skin and core elements are clad with honed variegated limestone. The building is seismically and “high wind” upgraded.
The project received the Excellence in Masonry Award, and a Distinction in Design Award for the Commercial / Institutional / Industrial Category in 2003 from St. Louis Construction News & Review.
