clovier

Founded in 1897, Glik’s is a family-owned apparel chain with over 70 stores in the Midwest. Arcturis was tasked with creating a new brand identity for a potential private label. The opening of a third store in Holland, MI inspired the creation of a brand targeting women ages 32 and older. One of the first Glik stores was named “The Good Luck Store” as “Gluck” means “luck” in German. The second-generation matriarch used to give out four leaf clovers for good wishes.

Drawing this historical context, the design team chose the name "Clovier," blending “Clov” (from the four-leaf clover, a symbol of good luck) and “Vier” (meaning four in Dutch, nodding to the store's location). The visual mark features a simple, typographical design with hand-drawn elements to evoke femininity.
