Award-Winning Design and Architecture Firm Arcturis Acquires
Top Atlanta Firm Square Feet Studio

The Midwest’s leading architecture and design firm will integrate Atlanta’s Firm Of The Year, expanding both firms’ capabilities and geographic reach

October 6, 2025 — Arcturis, an award-winning design firm headquartered in St. Louis, today announced the acquisition of Square Feet Studio, an Atlanta-based architecture, interiors, and urban placemaking practice. Square Feet Studio will operate under the co-brand “Arcturis | Square Feet Studio,” aligning two like-minded studios and merging teams, services, and geographies while maintaining the high-touch client experience both firms are known for. The move builds on Arcturis’s nearly 50 years of human-centered design leadership and national reach, licensed in 48 states, while adding Square Feet Studio’s 25 years of award-winning placemaking across hospitality, food and beverage, adaptive reuse, and multifamily interiors.

“As part of our seven-year strategic plan, we are focused on growth that is both intentional and client-driven,” said Traci O’Bryan, CEO of Arcturis. “Partnering with Square Feet Studio allows us to scale our impact and bring fresh creativity and detail-driven design to a broader stage. Together, we can deliver more ambitious projects while staying true to the values that define both firms.”

"Arcturis was founded nearly 50 years ago with a focus on designing from the inside out, always putting the human experience first," said Megan Ridgeway, President of Arcturis. "Square Feet Studio shares that ethos, and together we can amplify our impact on communities, sustainability, and design excellence across a broader canvas."

“Our clients trust us for our attention to detail and personal service,” said John Bencich, Co-Founder of Square Feet Studio. “Joining Arcturis allows us to keep that intimacy while giving us the resources, scale, and expertise to take on larger and more complex projects. Together we can deliver more for our clients without losing the qualities that define who we are.”

The rationale for the combination centers on continuity and expanded capability. Current project teams and primary contacts remain unchanged, preserving the trusted relationships clients rely on, while the merger unlocks a broader continuum of services delivered as a single, holistic experience. With studios in St. Louis and Atlanta, the firm will cross-pollinate talent and project types across the Midwest, Southeast, and beyond, extending a shared philosophy of designing “from the inside out.” Both practices center on the human experience, measurable sustainability, and community impact. Arcturis, an AIA 2030 signatory, brings a strong record of sustainability commitments as well as expertise in additional key disciplines including brand experience and lighting, while Square Feet Studio adds a portfolio rooted in hospitality interiors, placemaking, and community-forward design.

Representative work across the combined firms includes the recently transformed St. Louis Community College Meramec campus, the Edward Jones St. Louis and Tempe campuses, two decades of various project work for Washington University, and the Boys & Girls Clubs Teen Center in Ferguson, MO. In Atlanta and other markets, the firm’s portfolio spans Atlanta’s iconic White Provisions and Star Metals Districts, the award-winning Ramblin’ Reck Garage at Georgia Tech, and a wide range of restaurants associated with Michelin-recognized and James Beard–recognized teams. Together the newly combined firm is positioned to leverage its expanded scale and offerings, creating purposeful, connected spaces that empower change and drive positive impact for the clients and communities it serves.
