SPIRE CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS

2Q0A1752_reduced.jpg

The former General American Life Insurance Co. building, designed by Philip Johnson in 1974 was vacated in 2004 and sat unused until Spire (Formerly The Laclede Group), an innovative utility company that has experienced well-planned positive growth over the last few years, went looking for a new campus. Arcturis and Spire had already partnered on several project and that relationship continued with Arcturis helping them select a new home and design the space within.

The result is a stunning rebirth that took design cues from Johnson’s masterwork while helping to redefine the tenant’s image. The space includes office space, a showcase kitchen, multipurpose room, a work café, coffee bars on each floor, catering kitchen, gas control room, executive offices, and a variety of collaborative spaces. Arcturis developed new workplace and finish standards and helped educate Spire’s staff about the changes and new way of working. The space has been a success, employees have responded well to the healthy environment and efficient work space.

"Achieving LEED Gold for this iconic building that serves as Spire's St. Louis anchor is a noteworthy achievement."

- Rick Fedrizzi, CEO - USGBC
