St. Louis community college - student center renovation

As part of the STLCC Transformed strategic initiative, this renovation project focuses on upgrading key campus facilities to enrich the student experience, modernize infrastructure, and support the College’s long-term goals. Central to the effort is the full renovation of the 50,000-square-foot Student Center, which will be transformed into a dynamic, student-focused hub that promotes engagement, well-being, and community connection.

At the heart of the design is a distinctive feature wall—a continuously evolving display of school pride and branding, wrapped in warm wood tones. This visual element weaves throughout the building, creating a vibrant “ribbon” of identity and spirit. Carefully curated architectural details, modern finishes, integrated lighting, and strategic branding work together to highlight the existing structure while maximizing natural light. The layout is designed for intuitive navigation, offering a welcoming and easy-to-use environment for all students.

The reimagined Student Center will bring together wellness services, academic support, and social spaces—fostering a holistic environment where students can thrive academically, personally, and professionally.

Beyond the Student Center, planned improvements to the Communications North and Applied Sciences buildings will enhance functionality, accessibility, and instructional spaces. Additionally, major upgrades to the campus central plant will improve energy efficiency and sustainability, further supporting STLCC’s commitment to long-term operational excellence.
