After years of vacancy evolved into a state of disrepair, Arcturis and Green Street St. Louis collaborated to redevelop the historic National Guard Armory. Situated in mid-town St. Louis, the building remediation will maintain the Armory’s historic facade while providing necessary updates, including a new roof, new systems, and new circulation to meet ADA accessibility requirements. To revive and reinvigorate this iconic St. Louis structure, the design incorporates modern amenities such as flexible office space, a wellness center, a restaurant, a green roof terrace, and subterranean parking.
Beyond the Armory building, the District is slated to include mixed-use development. Located adjacent to MetroLink and Metro Bus stops, the Armory District will utilize transit-oriented development strategies to encourage the use of bicycle and pedestrian trails and public transportation to connect users to nearby destinations like the Cortex Innovation District, St. Louis University, The Foundry STL development, and SSM Hospital.
Arcturis is providing planning and landscape site design for the larger district development, architecture and interior design for the renovation of the Armory and other buildings within the district, and graphic design for the development of the new Armory District brand.
